What I’m Reading: Books on the Beach!

    Books on Beach

I’m about to go on a beach vacation (my bags are literally packed!) and the thing I’m most excited about? Curling up with a good book.

Sometimes other things in my day-to-day life make it hard to find time to read. In fact, I’m notorious for starting a book and then not finishing it until months later. For instance, I started reading Mindy Kaling’s book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? basically the day it came out. In her first chapter she makes a joke about the book being so short you should finish it in a few days. Cut to today and it’s still on my nightstand with a bookmark half-way through. Oops!

It’s so easy to get busy with everything else in life (work, TV, Words With Friends…) that things you really want to do just never happen.

But not on beach vacation! That’s right… seven days of uninterrupted reading time. I can hardly contain myself!

And working at Alloy Entertainment, I have quite the library to choose from: the Gossip Girl series by Cecily von Ziegesar, the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series by Ann Brashares, and even the old-school Sweet Valley High series by Francine Pascal. With so many to pick from, I’m kind of stressing out.

So tell me… what books have you read that you absolutely love? Please help me decide which ones to toss into my carry-on before I head out to my sunny escape!

I recently read a series by Lauren Kate, that begins with Fallen- it is about a human girl who falls in love with a fallen angel throughout many lifetimes, only to end in her death at age 17 and then the cycle begins again. It is a fascinating story- I highly recommend it.
The series continues with: Torment, Passion and concludes with Rapture.
