People frequently ask me for advice about attaining a job in entertainment. Here’s what I’ve got:
Informational interviews are really worthwhile; they could lead to actual interviews, introductions, and maybe even a job offer. Make sure to treat them with the same effort and attention you would treat a job interview: Be on time; wear appropriate clothing; know the company where your interviewer works (Google it); have questions prepared; have something to say about yourself; do not overstay.
Research companies that make the shows, movies, books, etc., that you love most. See if there are opportunities — any opportunities — there because for the most part, getting a foot in the door is really hard.
Accept that you are not above answering phones, scheduling meetings, and running the occasional personal errand. Almost everyone starts at the bottom.

Thank you very much for making this available. It is very insightful. TSX-Today.com is the best website for me in this regard. TSX Today https://twitter.com/TSXindexTODA
Gotham Comedy Club can be a great source of laughter if you’re sick of just relying on City Hall for your daily dose of funny. (Or are those tears?) Some best and brightest comedians have spawned from our Gotham clubs, as well as a few of those chronic amateur-night-attendees who, bless their hearts.
